Yoichi Yamaguchi, a Japanese church historian and former pastor, is a post-collegiate theological institution for training men and women as pastors, evangelists, missionaries, Bible translators, theological teachers, church musicians and music directors, and other servant-leaders in Japan and abroad.

Kyoritsu Christian Institute, a research institute of Tokyo Christian University directed by Dr. Hisakazu Inagaki, exists for the purpose of dialogue with the academic world and civil society through informal and formal colloquia, forums, symposia, and publications. KCI’s director, research fellows, and other affiliated scholars’ research interests include modern theology and philosophy, science and religion, social work and welfare, Christianity in Japanese and other Asian contexts (especially Southeast Asia), Christian education and ministry, and biblical studies.

The Faith and Culture Center seeks to promote Christian world mission in accordance with Tokyo Christian University's founding principles. The FCC heps the Church facilitate "holistic mission" by the integration of "theory" and "praxis" in mission in order to present the gospel of the Lord Jesus by "word and deed" in Japan and around the world.

  1. Research case studies and collect data for Christian mission and community development in Japan and around the world. Disseminate the results of research, workshop, seminars, consultations and other venues to interested practitioners and organizations.
  2. Hold seminars, consultations and workshops focused on important issues in each cultural context of mission as well as on the 5 foci of the FCC.
  3. Facilitate a practitioner exchange program between like-minded practitioner groups (churches, missions, development organizations) around the world.
  4. Facilitate the development of an effective care system for mission practitioners (pastors, lay leaders, missionaries, etc.) in Japan

Mission
The mission of the FCC is to enable the Church in each culture to move deep into its own cultural context in such a way that non-believers will clearly hear and be impacted by the Gospel and transformed by the grace of God.
